Specimen Accessioner/Data Entry Clerk – Simply Biotech
OVERVIEW
Our client is an established, growing healthcare and life sciences organization focused on developing and delivering innovative molecular diagnostic solutions that help healthcare providers make more informed decisions throughout the patient care journey. With a growing presence in the U.S. healthcare market and strong adoption of its diagnostic solutions among medical professionals, the organization is continuing to expand its commercial and operational capabilities. This is a Tues – Sat, 10am – 6:30pm shift that pays $22/hr. - $28/hr.
Immediate opening for a Specimen Accessioner/Data Entry Clerk in Irvine, CA who possesses:
- Experience in specimen accessioning (unboxing/packing/shipping specimens)
- Experience with Excel data entry
- Strong file organization skills
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Assessing the quality and quantity of incoming patient specimens
- Performing accurate data entry and sample labeling
- Troubleshooting specimen issues by identifying, documenting, and correcting discrepancies within Logistics, Accessioning, and Problem Hold
- Documenting specimen quality issues and taking appropriate action to ensure proper handling, accepting or rejecting specimens based on SOPs
- Communicating specimen issues (compromised specimens, insufficient quantity, mislabeled specimens) to the Director of Client Services or designee
- Performing quality control checks for the accuracy of slide labeling
- Receiving, verifying, prioritizing, and facilitating the delivery of patient specimens and information to designated laboratory departments
- Following procedures for tracking specimens in and out of storage
- Safely packaging and accurately preparing shipping documents to send patient results and materials to clients
- Communicating and working effectively with colleagues from other departments, following written and verbal communications
- Organizing and maintaining a clean work area, inventory of supplies, and daily cleaning records
