Industry Executive Advisory- Mill and Mining

Role Summary The Industry Executive Advisor is a critical role supporting SAP’s North America Mill & Mining Industry business to grow the sales pipeline and engage customers to secure revenue. The Advisor provides industry perspective, strategic solution advice, and thought leadership to drive pipeline growth, support sales cycles, and collaborate on customer co‑innovation programs. Duties and Responsibilities Area 1 – Industry GTM Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute a quality and actionable Industry plan for the North American market. Conduct quarterly industry business plan reviews and global Industry Business Unit interlocks. Enable Sales, Marketing, Inside Marketing & VAT teams to differentiate industry‑specific offerings. Develop compelling industry‑specific content for North America in support of the five key focus areas. Area 2 – Drive Awareness & Generate Demand: Develop SAP’s brand in the industry through thought leadership, content creation, event appearances, and media interviews. Create and nurture industry customer communities such as ASUG. Build new connections and qualified pipeline opportunities. Execute events, social, and digital plans with Marketing. Provide industry advisory for account planning. Area 3 – Mature Industry Opportunities In Pipeline: Accelerate pipeline opportunity conversion (F to D). Develop industry‑specific account strategies. Deliver industry‑specific customer experiences. Conduct executive first meetings to differentiate SAP relative to customer objectives. Area 4 – Support Deal Execution: Differentiate SAP by industry throughout the sales cycle to increase win rates and grow deal sizes. Shape engagement by advising sales teams on right industry messaging in RFP responses, business cases, demos, and solution architecture. Lead customer executive conversations. Area 5 – Support Customer Success Realization: Support post‑sale advisory and Executive Steering Committee meetings for top accounts. Support Industry Customer Advisory Councils and networking. Build and nurture customer references. Experience 5+ years of relevant Mill & Mining industry experience as a practitioner or operational consultant. 3+ years of application solution/product experience (preferably SAP). Business Development and/or Management Consulting experience with strong knowledge of the Mill & Mining industry. Understanding of market strategies, business drivers, and challenges per segment. Knowledge of business processes across multiple buying centers. Ability to articulate technology needs supporting the above. Industry reputation and network; participation in relevant industry associations is highly positive. Proficient speaker in customer 1:1 and 1:many event situations. Experience building and retaining strong customer relationships. Experience in diverse technology landscape and integration issues. Proven CXO engagement skills. Growth and business ownership mentality to build and grow a business. Strong storytelling ability using customer examples to explain why do anything, why now, why SAP. Product marketing acumen (segment, target, content, lead strategy, digital, social). Solution selling acumen – ability to differentiate in complex sales. Proficiency in building high‑quality presentations in PowerPoint with keen eye for detail. Passion for technology enabling industry strategic initiatives. Knowledge of SAP technology is a bonus (consulting / presales / solution management experience). Compensation Range Transparency The targeted annual combined range for this position is 194100-411600. The actual amount to be offered will be within that range, dependent on education, skills, experience, scope, location, and other factors as determined through the selection process.
