Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging counseling sessions tailored to individuals dealing with chronic pain, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and personalized care plans.
• Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other essential healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that prioritize patient-centered outcomes.
• Empower patients by not just addressing their pain, but also by helping them become proactive participants in their pain management journey, offering tools and resources to enhance their emotional and physical resilience.
• Guide patients through various emotional challenges, offering support that extends beyond traditional counseling, helping them navigate feelings of frustration, anxiety, or depression that often accompany chronic pain.
• Facilitate workshops or group sessions, when applicable, that engage patients in discussions about self-care strategies, lifestyle changes, and holistic wellness approaches to reinforce their treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adults experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to fibromyalgia, arthritis, and chronic back pain. Our patients often face complex emotional and psychological challenges stemming from their pain, and you will be tasked with creating a safe, supportive environment where they can explore their feelings and develop effective coping mechanisms.

Qualifications

• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Washington is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in Counseling or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated experience and competence in counseling individuals with chronic pain or related conditions, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and collaborative healthcare teams.
• Proficiency with telehealth technologies and digital communication tools, ensuring reliable patient interactions and connectivity.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in developing and implementing integrative health coaching strategies that address both physical and emotional health considerations.
• Previous work within a community health setting or familiarity with a multidisciplinary team approach would be beneficial.
• A background in using evidence-based practices and therapeutic frameworks tailored specifically for chronic pain management.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
