Description

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients from pediatric to geriatric populations using both formal assessment tools and observational methods.
• Design tailored treatment plans to meet the immediate and extended needs regarding communication, cognition, and swallowing.
• Engage in direct speech therapy practices aimed at enhancing language, clarity, fluency, and swallowing abilities.
• Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers to ensure coherent care approaches.
• Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond clinical settings.
• Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, providing necessary interventions that maintain care continuity throughout recovery.
• Document patient progress meticulously, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Stay informed about innovations in the field through ongoing professional development and peer collaboration.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preference for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is needed within 30 days of starting employment.
