Human Resources (HR) Manager

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead people operations for a multi-division clothing company in Los Angeles, California. This Contract position will oversee core HR functions for approximately 200 employees, including payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and workforce support. The role also provides leadership to HR staff, partners with business leaders across divisions, and helps maintain efficient administrative and workplace operations.Responsibilities:• Lead day-to-day human resources activities across multiple business divisions and provide guidance to managers on workforce matters and organizational needs.• Supervise and support the HR Administrator in another division while collaborating with leadership and external HR advisors when specialized input is needed.• Manage employee relations matters by responding to workplace concerns, conducting reviews or investigations, and advising managers on corrective action and performance discussions.• Direct the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, separations, and offboarding activities.• Oversee payroll processing for approximately 200 employees, ensuring time records, deductions, adjustments, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.• Administer employee benefit programs, including 401(k) coordination, and organize annual open enrollment activities with insurance providers and employees.• Coordinate leave of absence cases and workers’ compensation matters by managing documentation, carrier communication, employee support, and return-to-work planning.• Maintain compliance with federal and California employment requirements, update HR policies and procedures, and support workplace safety training and related regulatory obligations.• Provide administrative support in areas such as authorized banking backup, petty cash reconciliation, company event coordination, office supply ordering, and oversight of security, maintenance, and vendor services.• Maintain organized HR records and protect sensitive employee and company information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
