What you'll own: Full project lifecycle for road and site work projects — from drawings/specs/addenda review through closeout Direct coordination with county, city, and state officials, inspectors, engineers, and architects Onsite supervision of crews and subcontractors across multiple active sites Change order identification and communication before scope creep becomes a budget problem Construction schedule development and adherence to plans/specs What gets you hired: Construction management experience in the public sector, specifically road work and site work A track record of holding your ground with agencies, inspectors, and subcontractors alike Sharp negotiation instincts and zero tolerance for missed deadlines Comfort managing multiple field sites spread across a county Compensation: $100K–$125K, based on experience, plus benefits.
