Aquatics Coach

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist the Aquatics Director in maintaining schedule of activities, including physical education classes, life skills classes, elementary programing, athletic team practices, and swim club activities, and ensures proper supervision and lifeguards are scheduled. Perform duties as an assistant coach of the Lawrence Swim Team (LST). Compensation for LST coaching are already included in this position. Perform duties as middle school and/or high school swim coach as assistant coach and/or head coach. Stipends associated with the coaching are additional compensation. Assist the Aquatics Director in receiving and responding to communications in regards to all pool related matters, i.e. swimming lessons Assist the Aquatics Director in preventive maintenance program for the pool operation & mechanical equipment. Assist daily chemical, maintenance and equipment performance log sheets, including HVAC performance and natatorium air quality. Perform pool water chemical testing to maintain and insure water chemistry is within health department standards. Operation of the Automatic Chemical Control Systems. Perform daily inspections and logs of pool and deck surfaces, ladders, diving equipment, underwater lighting, grating, report any problems or damaged equipment in and around the pools. Submit and maintain log book for health department water samples and results. Maintain all safety equipment such as First Aid Kit, CPR respirators, goggles, rubber gloves, rubber boots and emergency telephone. Test and service safety equipment. Oversee and inspect contracted work. Maintain proper storage and regulations of all toxic chemicals such as chlorine, acid, cleaning solutions, rags. Maintain a current list of vendors, contractors and supply houses for all pool chemical/cleaning needs. Ability to fulfill the drug/alcohol free policy. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and pass the lift assessment. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be a certified USA swimming coach and willing to gain other swimming credentials as needed.
