Overview
Registered Nurse – ER travel assignment in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Start date: 09/07/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,929–$1,961 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process, either directly or through delegation to supervise staff
- Assess patient needs, plan, implement, and evaluate care; involve patients and families in goal setting and discharge planning
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including fluids and respiratory therapies; document care appropriately
- Monitor patient conditions, report significant changes to physicians, and initiate remedial actions in emergencies
- Communicate clearly with physicians and other health team members; ensure accurate handoffs and timely documentation
- Teach patients and families about disease management, medications, and treatment plans; coordinate shifts to ensure continuity of care
- Assist with orientation and ongoing education of staff; participate in infection control and safety practices; maintain confidentiality
- May assume responsibilities of nurse in charge as assigned; promote a positive work environment and problem-solve to maintain quality care

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of South Dakota
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire
- TNCC certification for solo Emergency Room coverage within six months of hire
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, effective nursing care consistent with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act
- Ability to work in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern within a skilled nursing facility setting
- Willingness to participate in ongoing continuing education to maintain clinical competence
