Accounts Payable Associate - Commodity Trading

An international commodity trading firm is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist or Settlements Associate to support the day-to-day execution of its physical trading activities. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone early in their career who is looking to build broad exposure across operations and trade accounting within a commercial environment. Only candidates with direct experience with commodities will be considered for this position. Summary & Responsibilities Support execution of trade finance processes across physical cargoes (letters of credit, payments, settlements, and documentation) Prepare and review trade documentation (invoices, bills of lading, LC documents, etc.) Track cash movements, payment schedules, and assist with resolving discrepancies Work closely with traders, operations, and finance to ensure smooth transaction flow Assist with trade accounting activities, including basic P&L tracking, accruals, and reconciliations Support month-end processes and reporting alongside finance Maintain accurate records across internal systems and spreadsheets Qualifications 4+ years of experience in trade finance, trade support, operations, or accounting within commodities Basic understanding of physical commodity transactions (bulk preferred) and documentation Exposure to LCs, payments, and trade lifecycle processes Strong attention to detail Comfortable working in a lean team environment with broad responsibilities Proactive, reliable, and willing to take ownership of day-to-day processes #J-18808-Ljbffr Aurex Group
