The Surgery Scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected for the surgery schedule. Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures from physician offices and schedules the procedure according to established guidelines. Scheduler provides accurate information and maintains open communication with hospital departments and physician offices regarding schedule changes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Schedule surgerySchedule in office proceduresAssist with in office biopsies/proceduresSchedule preop & postop occupational therapy appointmentsSchedule lymphoscintigraphy injections for surgerySchedule needle localizations for surgerySchedule stereotactic & ultrasound guided bx with outside facilitySchedule Med Onc ConsultsSchedule Rad Onc ConsultsSchedule Plastics Surgeon ConsultsSchedule MRI ApptsSchedule follow-up appointment for newly diagnosedSchedule mammogram & ultrasound apptsPrepare/send surgery history and physical to hospitalRequest cardiac/medical ETC. Clearances for surgeryRequest films from outside facilitiesRequest records from outside facilitiesRequest outside films reviewRequest outside pathology reviewSend films to premier radiology & STM for procedures & imagingSend out pathology specimensSend surgery & biopsy ordersOrder genetic & breast cancer risk testingPrecert surgeries & in office proceduresBring back patients during clinicSend surgery packet to patientOrder procedure devices & suppliesOrder pathology devices & suppliesManage call scheduleBuild out & change office schedule templatesOrder kitchen suppliesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)High school graduate or equivalent with GEDElectronic Medical Records experience strongly preferred2 years of previous professional office experience with customer service experience requiredExperience with electronic medical scheduling preferredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredStrong computer skills including Windows file management and MS Office, and e-mail experienceGood verbal, listening, and written communication skillsAbility to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent customer service skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:• Able to travel to clinics when necessary• Able to lift 25 pounds #J-18808-Ljbffr Astera Cancer Care
