Values Accountability Caring Growth & Learning Respect Adaptability Fun Position Description Values The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with regulations, and strong internal controls. This role manages accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit coordination while providing strategic financial guidance to leadership. Role and Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP (or other applicable standards) Analyze financial results and provide insights to support decision-making Maintain general ledger integrity and reconcile accounts Budgeting & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Monitor organizational performance against budget and provide variance analysis Partner with department leaders on financial planning Analyze financial data to assess organizational performance and identify trends. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies that align with organizational goals. Provide financial insights to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. Compliance & Internal Controls Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and financial policies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation for audits and support the implementation of audit recommendations, including sitting in on desk reviews. Cash Flow & Treasury Management Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes Optimize financial resources and minimize risk Process Improvements & Support Supervise and mentor accounting staff Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement Support cross-functional collaboration with HR, operations, and executive leadership Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Support in benefit open enrollment, workers' compensation, and unemployment insurance. elections Assist in the implementation of financial systems and tools to enhance reporting capabilities Assistance with payroll and Garnishments, etc. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel High attention to detail and analytical skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Nonprofit Experience Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 5–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and audits Prior supervisory or leadership experience Preferred Qualifications Apply Please send a cover letter, résumé, and three professional references to the HR Department office at, View email address on click.appcast.io .
