Patient Access Representative – Pomona, CA
Location: Pomona, CA
Pay: $23/hr
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 22, 2026
Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 hours
Shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Openings: 2
We are hiring a Patient Access Representative for a hospital business office in Pomona, CA.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of hospital accounts receivable, medical collections, or healthcare collections experience
- Inpatient and outpatient collection experience required
- Experience with UB-04 facility claims
- Knowledge of hospital billing, CPT/ICD codes, and DRG reimbursement
- Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payers
- Experience with institutional claim follow-up
- Ability to investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hospital billing/follow-up systems
Responsibilities:
- Follow up with insurance carriers on outstanding balances
- Review AR aging reports and prioritize collections
- Follow up on UB-04/institutional claims
- Investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims
- Verify eligibility through insurance portals
- Document collection activities and resolve billing discrepancies
