Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Vent Experience Required)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Weekend requirement applies | One holiday required per 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a hybrid PCU unit consisting of PCU and ICU beds, including management of vent/trach-dependent patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, and emergency response including Rapid Response and Code team activation
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration); manage central and peripheral line care and perform phlebotomy
• Deliver respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and ventilator care for chronic trach patients
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including DKA, COPD, sepsis, overdose/suicide, chronic respiratory failure, and renal failure
• Float within skillset as required; maintain isolation precautions and operate within telemetry settings across PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown environments

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ventilator and tracheostomy patient care experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Experience with cardiac drip administration, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, DOU, or stepdown unit setting
• Experience managing patients with DKA, COPD, sepsis, or chronic respiratory failure
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
