Desktop Support Specialist

Salary: $45,760 - 45,760 per year Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a data center, telecommunications, network support, or IT infrastructure environment.
• Experience working in data centers, MDFs, or IDFs and installing and supporting network, server, and storage hardware.
• Experience patching and troubleshooting copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Familiarity with rack elevations, cable management, and asset tracking.
• Basic understanding of networking, server hardware, and physical infrastructure.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and in racks and data center environments, and accurately distinguish cable colors and labels.
• Ability to provide after-hours support for incidents and planned maintenance.
• Familiarity with the ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Proven experience providing IT support in an office environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of audiovisual room support.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Install, cable, label, and decommission servers, network, and storage equipment; patch and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Support MDF and IDF infrastructure, including patch panels, switches, and structured cabling.
• Maintain rack elevations, cable records, asset information, organized racks, and documentation standards in the DCIM platform.
• Troubleshoot cabling, network connectivity, hardware, software, printer, and other common IT issues.
• Assist with equipment moves, additions, changes, imaging, and refreshing of computers and other devices.
• Escort vendors and contractors in data center and telecommunications spaces as needed.
• Support maintenance activities, infrastructure projects, and scheduled patching and maintenance downtime in coordination with business teams and vendors.
• Provide onsite and technical support to users and respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and concerns.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, including projectors, microphones, and video conferencing systems; operate AV systems and address technical issues during live events.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and IT staff to resolve complex issues and improve support processes.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and equipment maintenance.
