Saint John Vianney Center (SJVC) is a non‑profit licensed 50‑bed behavioral health hospital for men and women Religious and Clergy. Located in Downingtown, PA, SJVC is seeking qualified candidates for the Human Resources (HR) Generalist position. The HR Generalist reports to the Manager of Human Resources and is responsible for managing HR related functions in a confidential and sensitive manner. The ideal candidate is outgoing, capable of building trusting relationships with employees and leadership and is responsive to the internal needs of the organization. Work Location On‑site (no remote or hybrid option) Responsibilities Responsible for recruitment efforts including job postings, conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews with the hiring manager, and making employment offers. Coordinates post‑offer pre‑employment physicals and drug screens and conducts online background investigations for new hires. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires by coordinating orientations, paperwork, and introductions to relevant personnel. Assist in the management and communication of employee benefits, including health insurance, 403(b) plan and supplemental benefits. Process bi‑monthly payroll for the organization and maintain employee information in the HRIS. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records, including personal information, job details, and performance evaluations in HRIS. Conducts new employee orientations which includes but is not limited to new hire paperwork, coordination of safety training and harassment training and benefits enrollment. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies, to mitigate legal risks and maintain a fair and equitable work environment. Serve as a liaison between employees and managers, addressing inquiries, and providing information on HR policies and procedures. Assist in the planning and delivery of staff wellness and employee recognition initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field Experience in healthcare preferred Knowledge of Paylocity or similar preferred Minimum 2 years human resources generalist experience including: onboarding, employee relations, payroll and benefits administration. Will consider a recent graduate with bachelor’s degree in human resources with a human resources internship. Possess exceptional organizational and communication skills. Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling critical and sensitive information.
