Position Summary The Director of Employment and Community Services is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing Employment Services, Community Participation Programs, and the Oxford Photo License Center contract. This position ensures compliance, program quality, and participant success by managing staff, developing plans, and fostering community relationships. The Director plays an essential role in advancing Handi-Crafters' mission to support individuals with disabilities in achieving competitive employment and community engagement. Qualifications Education: M.S. Degree in Education or Human Services field. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years' experience working directly with disabled persons. At least two (2) years of which was spent in a supervisory position. History of work in landscape of the Office of Developmental Programs, a plus. Special Training/Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; computer proficiency; proficiency in counseling and case management techniques; knowledge of supervisory practices. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit. Occasionally the individual will be required to stand or walk. Job Relationships Responsible to: Executive Director Staff Supervised: Employment Specialists, Community Participation Specialists, Oxford Photo License technicians. Interrelationships: Works collaboratively with agency staff, clients and their families, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, County Supports Coordination units, other agencies and the business community Responsibilities Manage, direct, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assigned staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high performing team environment. Oversee the daily operations of Employment Services, Community Participation Supports, Career Pathways, and the Oxford Photo License Center, ensuring quality service delivery and positive participant outcomes. Develop and implement departmental goals, strategic initiatives, and operational plans that support the organization's mission and objectives. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, licensing requirements, funding sources, agency policies, documentation standards, billing requirements, and quality assurance measures. Monitor participant progress, staff productivity, departmental performance, and employment outcomes, utilizing data to identify trends and implement continuous improvement strategies. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, businesses, community organizations, educational institutions, Supports Coordinators, OVR, ODP, and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for individuals served. Participate directly in employment development, employer engagement, Career Pathways meetings, participant assessments, admissions and discharge planning, job coaching, community activities, and other direct service functions as operational needs require. Prepare reports, maintain required records, assist with budget development, grant opportunities, and program expansion initiatives. Promote and protect participant rights, confidentiality, health, safety, dignity, and person-centered practices in all aspects of service delivery. Represent Handi-Crafters in the community, maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes, and perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. #J-18808-Ljbffr Handi-Crafters
