Carpenter -Engineering Facilities-Mount Sinai West-Full Time/Days ( 8am-4pm )

Carpenter – Mount Sinai West Constructs, maintains and repairs structured woodwork, builds special equipment of wood or other material and cuts and fashions parts of furniture. Operates powered woodworking machinery such as lathes, saws, planers and sanders. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides and maintains hand tools as specified by Supervisor at time of employment. Responsibilities Construct, maintain, install and repair structural woodwork including hardware, door checks, fixed and mobile furniture, ceiling tiles, mirrors, flooring, bathroom accessories and other specialty items. Build special equipment of wood or other material such as display racks, shelves, cases and stands. Erect scaffolding and build forms for concrete pouring. Measure, saw, square, fit, sand and nail components to effect construction or repair of the above items. Operate power woodworking machinery to cut and fashion parts, and calculate measurements, angles and curves as required. Install wall and ceiling systems based on blueprint drawings. Create millwork based on blueprint drawings and adhere to millwork design standards. Customize and install solid‑surface products such as Formica and Corian. Clean work areas, tools, equipment and machines. Move, crate and uncrate equipment. Keep the work cart supplied and within immediate reach. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications HS/GED required. 5 years of experience, or 4 years if trade or vocational school graduate. Certification for powder‑actuated cartridge tools. Proficiency with tablet‑based computer systems.
