The S taff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting function and work closely with Accounting Leadership in a collaborative, family-focused environment. The primary focus of this role will be account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, month-end close support, financial analysis, and maintaining accurate financial records.

This position is ideal for someone with at least 1-2 years of general accounting experience who enjoys solving problems, asks thoughtful questions, and is eager to grow. Duties

• Prepare timely and accurate bank reconciliations, researching and resolving outstanding items, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations for balance-sheet and general-ledger accounts, ensuring account activity is accurate, complete, and properly supported.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, account analysis, accrual support, schedules, and required documentation.
• Prepare, review, and support journal entries and general-ledger activity as assigned.
• Assist Accounting Leadership with recurring accounting activities, financial reporting support, account research, and special projects.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, reconcile variances, and identify the underlying cause of errors or unusual account activity.
• Support the preparation of internal financial reports, management reporting packages, account schedules, and supporting workpapers.
• Help maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash-management, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Participate in efforts to improve accounting processes, documentation, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with internal departments and colleagues to gather financial information, respond to requests, and ensure accounting matters are addressed in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling company financial information.
• Perform additional accounting and financial-support responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting  
• Prior accounting experience, internship experience, or relevant accounting exposure is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger activity, debits and credits, account reconciliations, financial statements, and month-end close concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and research reconciling items.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to review information, identify inconsistencies, investigate issues, and develop practical solutions.
• Naturally curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions to understand processes and improve accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize data, sort and filter information, use basic formulas, and prepare accurate spreadsheets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Accounting Leadership and cross-functional team members.
• A professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach with a desire to learn, accept feedback, and grow within the organization.
• Strong personal values, integrity, accountability, and discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Competitive Compensation: Salary range is in the $50-60k range, depending on experience, along with annual growth potential, 401(k) match, PTO, and additional perks.
