Department Overview

Marshfield Children's Hospital features a Level I, eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) dedicated to providing the highest level of care for critically injured or seriously ill patients, ranging from newborns to adolescents up to 19 years old. With over 50 years of expertise in pediatric care, we have established a strong reputation for delivering advanced and compassionate treatment to our most vulnerable patients.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate patient care, including assessment, education, triage, and various nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide empathetic care to patients throughout all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Demonstrate competency and utilize comprehensive nursing expertise.

Qualifications

A graduate from an accredited nursing program is required, including institutions recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). A Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.

Must hold an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing where the practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Required department-specific competencies and certifications must be obtained and maintained.
