  • Patient Types: Sepsis, Cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, post-op overflow (including Total Joints, GI/Abdominal surgeries)
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6, nights 1:6; 2 CNA's per shift as needed

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality patient care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including sepsis, DVT/PE, CHF, and post-surgical recoveries
  • Administer medications and treatments, including wound care, JP drains, wound vacs, and hemodialysis catheter care
  • Support patient stabilization and recovery through vigilant observation and intervention
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RTs, PT, OT, and ST
  • Document patient information accurately in EMR system (Meditech Expanse)
  • Float across various unit areas as needed, providing flexible and adaptive care

What You Need

Required:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • 2+ years of experience in acute care, with Med/Surg/Telemetry background
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
  • Strong wound management and patient assessment skills
Preferred:
  • Experience with surgical post-op care, PICC line management, or hemodialysis
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
