Summary of Responsibilities The bartender/server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests. The server’s attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of the hotel. Primary Responsibilities and Objectives Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and timely manner Ensure guest satisfaction by responding promptly and courteously to requests and concerns Clear tables and clean banquet areas during and after events Assist with event breakdown and clean‑up Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow Provide excellent guest relations by maintaining positive and friendly communication Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent is preferred At least one year of customer service and restaurant experience is required Previous experience in bartending, hospitality, or catering is preferred Skills and Requirements Customer service mindset Knowledge of food preparation techniques and beverage service standards Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to work well within a team as well as independently Be a team player Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment Scheduling Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non‑traditional holidays May be required to be on‑call and aid during times of high demand Environment Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds Ability to move on uneven surfaces Must be able to remain stationary, move around, reach, and position oneself as needed for extended periods of time Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, including the ability to receive detailed information through communication and to make the discriminations in sound Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct Ability to tolerate stressful situations This job description is not an all‑inclusive list of functions and tasks.
