NURSE: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor or Non-Instructor POOL (college credit)

NURSE: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor or Non-Instructor POOL (college credit) District Wide distribution. Position type: Adjunct. This role supports the San Diego Community College District by teaching and/or providing nursing services on campus and in community settings. Applicants will be placed in the adjunct faculty pool and may receive assignments on the City, Mesa, Miramar campuses or continuing education centers. Major Responsibilities Teach undergraduate nursing courses in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Prepare lesson plans, deliver lectures and facilitate lab sessions. Maintain accurate attendance and grading records. Provide clinical nursing support, including first aid, vaccinations, and patient care as required. Participate in health promotion activities and community health initiatives. Be available to students outside of instructional hours, including office hours and electronic communication. Maintain professional conduct and ethics, and stay current with nursing knowledge and practice. Follow district policies and procedures for safety, student services, and compliance. Qualifications – Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in nursing OR Bachelor’s degree in nursing plus Master’s in health education or health science (or equivalent). Current California RN license. Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which the candidate will be assigned; acceptable experience includes: One year of continuous full‑time registered nursing care in the designated area; OR One academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated area. Valid current licensure or certification required by law. For foreign‑educated nurses, coursework must be evaluated by an accredited credential‑evaluation service (e.g., NACES or ACEI). Desired Qualifications RN, MSN, or PHN. Experience in community health or health promotion. Licenses & Certifications California Public Health Nurse certificate. Certificate of Tuberculosis examination (renewed every 4 years). Live Scan fingerprint clearance. Salary and Benefits Salary placement is based on the Adjunct College Salary Schedule upon receipt of official transcripts and verifications of prior work experience.
