Director OF Revenue

Interim Director of Revenue Accounting Our client, a public software company, is seeking an Interim Director of Revenue Accounting to provide leadership and hands‑on support during a temporary leave coverage period. This position is hybrid in San Francisco, CA, but remote candidates will also be considered. This engagement is expected to last 6 months. Responsibilities: Serve as a senior advisor and leader for the revenue accounting function during a temporary transition period Lead the analysis and application of revenue recognition guidance related to customer contracts and complex transactions Support technical accounting assessments, policy interpretation, and documentation related to revenue accounting matters Partner with Finance, Sales Operations, and other cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and operational execution Oversee and support revenue operations processes, including billing, accounts receivable, collections, and related workflows Review and enhance revenue accounting procedures, controls, and reporting processes Provide guidance and issue resolution support to team members and stakeholders as needed Assist with month‑end and quarter‑end close activities related to revenue accounting and reporting Requirements: Extensive experience in revenue accounting and technical accounting within a software or subscription‑based business Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles Experience supporting revenue operations, billing, accounts receivable, or related functions Ability to lead teams while remaining hands‑on with complex accounting matters Experience with ERP and revenue management systems; familiarity with subscription or usage‑based revenue models is preferred Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
