About Ace Retail Group Ace Retail Group (ARG) is a division of Ace Hardware Corporation, operating several Ace brands across the United States, with headquarters in Lenexa, KS and Farmington Hills, MI. General Job Summary The Assistant Manager oversees overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives. Responsibilities Customer Service: Provide positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware; proactively assist customers, greet and thank them, handle calls and complaints, and maintain product knowledge. Store Operations: Create a safe work environment, supervise general operations, open and close the store, implement programs, ensure loss prevention and safety audits, manage cashiering functions, oversee maintenance and repairs, and participate in management meetings. Inventory & Merchandising: Supervise forklift operations, receiving, stocking, and cycle counts; maintain back stock levels, control inventory to maximize profitability, and reset merchandise and signage. Hiring & Training: Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and reviewing associates, with approval from the General Manager. Leadership: Lead by example, be approachable, communicate merchandising and sales ideas, and prepare for future advancement. Requirements and Qualifications Must exhibit Ace’s Core Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or GED, preferred previous retail management and hardware experience, ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and climb.
