- Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric age groups, using both standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that prioritize both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing functionalities.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive strategies for patient care.
- Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the therapy room.
- Provide sporadic inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain seamless continuity of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Document patient progress and therapy sessions accurately, adhering to state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and education to stay informed on the latest advancements in the field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all ages, along with a deep knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to foster effective interactions with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to align therapy techniques with the diverse backgrounds and needs of clients.
- Solid clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities that drive positive outcomes.
- Proficient in electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.
