Compensation Analyst

Join UCLA's Human Resources team as a Compensation Analyst and play an important role in supporting one of the nation's leading public university. In this position, you will partner with HR professionals, campus leaders, and systemwide colleagues to help ensure UCLA's compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and compliant with University policies.

As a Compensation Analyst, you will perform compensation and classification analyses, conduct job reviews, benchmark positions against the market, and develop recommendations that support strategic workforce decisions. You will also collaborate with Human Resources partners, campus leadership, and the UC Office of the President to maintain data integrity across UCPath and HR systems while assisting Compensation Consultants with compensation program administration and wage implementations.

Salary: The budgeted hiring range for this position is up to $95,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Location: This position offers a primarily remote work arrangement; however, employees are expected to report to the UCLA campus in Los Angeles as business needs require. On-site work may be needed for meetings, collaboration, training, special projects, or other operational responsibilities. In the past the frequency of on-site has been very limited but work may vary over time based on departmental and University needs.

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

• 3–5 years of compensation or classification experience, preferably in higher education or public sector environments.
• Proficiency in compensation and job evaluation practices and systems; experienced in applicable wage and hour laws and regulations.
• Ability to interpret and explain laws, policies, procedures and guidelines to campus departments and employees.
• Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and oral presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of salary survey methodologies and market analysis.
• Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when faced with changes in workload and assignment, demanding deadlines, competing requirements and heavy workload.
• Skill in running and preparing ad-hoc reports.
• Excellent interpersonal communications and collaboration skills to work with a variety of clients, employees and colleagues.
• Ability to identify, evaluate and provide solutions to problems.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Demonstrates high data quality in HRIS inputs and reporting; completes regular program administration tasks (e.g., merit/equity cycles) with minimal rework.

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Economics, Public Administration, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and related experience.
