LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Accounts Payable Clerk for a contract opportunity in Chesapeake, Virginia for a maternity leave position to last through October.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE

• Understanding of how Accounts Payable works within a business
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Great Plains experience preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, including written and oral, to include active listening

• Ability to operate independently and follow up with vendors on a timely basis

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to handle difficult situations

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Two years minimum experience in accounts payable
• High school diploma or equivalent

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

· This position is not responsible for the direct supervision of any employees.

JOB DUTIES

• Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices
• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation
• Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Maintains historical records by filing documents
• Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
• Maintains vendor data and current W-9 requriements
• Prepare and process annual 1099's

Hourly pay rate range: $23.00
