Equipment Assembler

POSITION: Hilco Equipment Assembler PRIMARY FUNCTION:To assemble, wire, test and operate equipment, assemblies and sub-assemblies for the purification or filtration of oils and/or fluids, working under general supervision. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:Electrical and vacuum testing apparatus. Power or hand tools necessary to carry out the primary function. Employee is to furnish the following tools: Pliers, screwdrivers, crescent 12", open end wrench 3/8" -1", box wrench 3/8" - 1", small socket set, dike cutting pliers, screw starters, test light, pin vise, channel lock pliers, level, center punch, soft and ball peen hammer, 12" pipe wrench, scribe, tape, 6" scale, tri-square, center head, vise grips, hack saw, and drift punches. SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Foreman WORKING PROCEDURE: 1. Reads, interprets and analyzes blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, sketches, instructions and specifications pertaining to job. Must pass Blueprint and Electrical Tests in order to qualify. 2. Plans and carries out details of working procedure. 3. Observes all safety precautions regarding proper circuits, piping of steam, oil, and vacuum systems. 4. Completely wires and checks all systems in accordance with specifications. 5. Assembles all components, assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with specifications. 6. Dismantles and repairs faulty circuits, assemblies or sub-assemblies excluding experimental work. 7. Thoroughly familiar with high and low vacuum testing. 8. Tests complicated assemblies and sub-assemblies for proper operation in accordance with test procedure. 9. Adjusts or corrects circuits, assemblies or sub-assemblies to correspond with specification changes may be engineering or methods departments. 10. Files, saws or burrs parts using hand, power or portable tools. 11. Uses soldering or brazing equipment (excluding oxygen-acetylene equipment) as required in connection with the assembly of component parts. 12. Works to close tolerances using scales, rules, and micrometers. 13. Prepares work records and other allied paper work as required to carry out the primary function. 14. As directed, marks or labels parts for identification 15. Keeps work area in clean, safe and orderly condition not including work generally performed by janitors. 16. Fulfills responsibility for dimensional and quality conformance of completed work to applicable specifications and quality standards. 17.
