Sales Development Program - Technical Sales

Job Summary & Responsibilities Vertiv’s Sales Development Program (SDP) is designed for recent college graduates looking for a career in technical sales. The first year you will serve as an Application Engineer, learning our products, systems, and processes while providing technical support to sales teams and customers. In the second year you will gain additional exposure to technical sales, putting you on the fast track for a technical sales opportunity. Key Responsibilities Training to become an expert of Vertiv’s various solutions (e.g., AC power products, thermal products, services) Assisting with approvals of customization of Vertiv’s products/solutions Participating in inbound and outbound calls to Vertiv’s customers to determine and discuss customer needs and requirements. Responding to requests for proposal from customers/prospects Interacting with sales leaders on a regular basis Using sales tools such as product configurators, proposal development tools, MS Power BI Traveling to field sales offices and supporting customer‑facing meetings Partnering with Vertiv sales leaders focused on specific vertical industries (Healthcare, Retail, Education, Finance, Government) Conducting presentations and training sessions with colleagues and sales teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science Strong communication skills – written and presentation Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities Excellent problem‑solving skills and a detail‑oriented mindset Ability to work effectively in a team and implement process solutions with objective, measurable results Adaptable with a desire to learn and advance Position Eligibility Requirements Position located onsite at one of the company’s central Ohio locations Travel may be required, up to 10 % Strong desire to pursue a career in sales, with the ability to relocate if required upon completion of the program Core Principles Safety Integrity Respect Teamwork Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Priorities Customer Focus Operational Excellence High‑Performance Culture Innovation Financial Strength Behaviors Own It Act With Urgency Foster a Customer‑First Mindset Think Big and Execute Lead by Example Drive Continuous Improvement Learn and Seek Out Development Equal Opportunity Statement Vertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
