Role-: Mortgage Appraiser Specialist
Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 9 AM – 5 PM EST
Contract: Long Term
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Mortgage Appraiser Specialist with experience in appraisal review, collateral underwriting, or quality control. The role involves reviewing residential property appraisals, identifying risks, and communicating appraisal results directly with members/customers.
Required Skills:
- 1–5+ years of appraisal review or collateral underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of USPAP, FHA, VA, and GSE guidelines
- Experience with CU (Collateral Underwriter) and Encompass or similar LOS tools
- Good communication and customer handling skills
- Experience working with credit unions or community banks is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Review residential appraisals for Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, and HELOC loans
- Analyze property values, market data, comps, and appraisal adjustments
- Call members to explain appraisal results, deficiencies, or reconsideration requests
- Identify risks, inconsistencies, and compliance issues
- Work closely with underwriting and QC teams
