About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel I to join its Early Drug Development Research Contracts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements related to clinical, preclinical, and translational research within the early drug development service. This role is pivotal in providing access to cutting-edge therapies for patients and supporting the mission of the institution. Key responsibilities include developing strong relationships with the research team and clinicians, maintaining contract systems, and collaborating with the legal team on a range of legal, regulatory, and operational issues. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor, active bar membership, and approximately 4-6 years of experience in research contract negotiation, preferably in an academic or non-profit setting. Applicants for the Assistant General Counsel I position at the company should possess a Juris Doctor with active bar membership and have a background in research contract negotiation, with a focus on clinical and translational research. The role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property issues, and other considerations in healthcare and research transactions. Law firm experience is strongly preferred, as is a demonstrated interest in science, research, or healthcare. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication, drafting, and negotiating skills, as well as the ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively.
