About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel for a commercial role. The successful candidate will be a key leader in the Commercial Legal team, responsible for managing and mentoring a dynamic group of Commercial Legal attorneys. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in commercial law, particularly in the areas of enterprise cloud, infrastructure, and SaaS agreements. The Assistant General Counsel will be expected to lead and close complex negotiations, provide guidance on legal issues related to data privacy and AI regulations, and ensure that the company's commercial legal practices align with market expectations and regulatory requirements. Applicants must have a JD and be a member of the New York, California, or other applicable US bar in good standing. A minimum of 12 years of combined law firm and in-house experience, with at least 4 years in a B2B technology company, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and developing legal professionals, as well as deep experience in commercial legal implications of AI, data privacy, and other regulatory frameworks. The role demands a leader with excellent judgment, independent execution, and a commercial, practical, and business-enabling strategic growth mindset. Experience in the CDN and/or security industry, as well as a passion for technology and the internet, is a plus.
