Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a meaningful opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students across K-12 in a dynamic educational setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, onsite contract role spans from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027, serving school communities in Southern Oregon. Be part of a team dedicated to ensuring equal access to communication and learning for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably within K-12 schools
• Strong understanding of confidentiality, impartiality, and ethical standards as set by professional organizations
• Ability to adapt to varying grade levels and educational content
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to foster an inclusive environment
• Support students’ communication access across general and special education settings
• Assist with adapting instructional materials and responding to students’ language needs
• Maintain accurate records and provide input for educational planning as needed
• Participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and team conferences
