Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, four dedicated interpreters are needed onsite in beautiful Southern Oregon, serving students in Rosenburg and Douglas. As a full-time contract professional, you’ll play a vital role in empowering students to fully access their educational environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure required
• Professional experience providing interpreting services for students in K-12 settings preferred
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver on-site, real-time sign language interpretation for classes, assemblies, and school activities
• Support communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers, fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
• Adjust interpreting techniques for a wide range of age groups and educational subjects
• Engage in collaboration with special education and support teams
• Help facilitate equal access to classroom instruction and school information for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
