Software EngineerStake Center Locating is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Data team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting custom business applications that improve operational efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience building full-stack solutions, integrating systems through APIs, and developing scalable software that supports business processes.In addition to application development, this role will contribute to data engineering initiatives, including system integrations, data pipelines, and automation solutions that enable reliable access to corporate data.ResponsibilitiesApplication DevelopmentDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain custom enterprise applications that support business operations.Develop and support web-based applications, APIs, and backend services using modern software development practices.Implement new features and enhancements within existing custom applications.Create intuitive user interfaces and workflows that enable employees to efficiently interact with business data.Design and develop CRUD-based applications and portals to support operational and reporting needs.Participate in application architecture, code reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production incidents.Systems Integration & AutomationDevelop integrations between internal and external systems using REST APIs and event-driven architectures.Build automation solutions that streamline business processes using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Power Automate, and custom-developed services.Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes for business-critical applications.Data Engineering & Analytics SupportDevelop and maintain data movement and integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.Design and support ETL/ELT processes that provide reliable and accurate data across platforms.Investigate and resolve data quality issues impacting operational and analytical applications.Support business intelligence initiatives by collaborating with analytics teams to ensure trusted and accessible data.Perform ad-hoc data analysis and reporting in support of business and executive stakeholders.Technical Skill SetRequiredSoftware development experience using an object-oriented programming language (C#, Java, Python, etc.)SQL Server development and database designWeb application developmentREST API development and integrationMicrosoft Azure cloud servicesSource control and software development lifecycle practicesPreferredPythonMicrosoft FabricAzure FunctionsFront-end development frameworks (React, Angular, Blazor, or similar)Current Technology StackApplication Development: Python, REST APIs, React, C#.NETCloud Platform: Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Container Apps, Batch Services, Synapse, Data Lake Storage)Data & Analytics: SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Power BIAutomation & Integration: Power Platform, Logic Apps, Azure FunctionsDevelopment Tools: Visual Studio Code, Postman, Git, Claude Code/CodexEducationRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related fieldQualificationsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to design solutions for complex business requirementsAbility to build, test, deploy, and support enterprise software applicationsAbility to quickly learn new technologies and expand technical expertiseStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teamsSelf-motivated with a focus on delivering high-quality solutionsDisclaimer: This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
