Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: San Jose, CAKey skills: Sheet Metal Design, Creo or NX, GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, Electronic Enclosures, Die-Cast, EMI, Electro-Mechanical PackagingJD:• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.• Design and deliver next-generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements.• Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials that comply with EMI, safety, and other standards.• Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings applying GD&T principles.• Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues impacting field or production.• Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address mechanical integrity concerns.• Host peer and cross-functional design reviews.• Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).• Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling.
