Job Description

This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus based on your eligibility and experience. 0-1 years of experience: 2-year commitment: $10,000, 3-year commitment: $12,000. 1-2 years of experience: 2-year commitment: $10,000, 3-year commitment: $17,000. 2+ years of experience: 2-year commitment: $15,000, 3-year commitment: $25,000.

Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies. (20%)
• Utilizes proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions. Follows policy for medication and specimen handling. (20%)
• Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participates in the surgical pause to assure correct patient and surgical site. (20%)
• Understands, anticipates and adapts to surgeon preference and patient care variables, and contributes to updating surgeon preference materials. (20%)
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count. (10%)
• Cares for and utilizes resources to promote cost effective and efficient environment for patients. (10%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum: None

Preferred: One year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Surgical Technologist (ST) hired after 12/29/2020 require one of the following:
• Education and Certification: Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire. Military programs accepted.
• Pre-existing Employment: Employment as a surgical technologist by this facility before 12/29/2020, or at another facility within the two years prior to 12/29/2020.
• CPR American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
