Primary Responsibilities Perform general repairs and replacements to damaged, deteriorated or otherwise non-functioning conditions found in and about the University buildings and campus. Apply journeyman level knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical. Additional experience must encompass basic knowledge of three of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting. Use tools and equipment responsibly and maintain them. Plan and execute all major work related to installations, combined with routine and preventative maintenance of the university plumbing infrastructure, fixtures, and safety checks. Execute large‑volume water distribution, sewer, drainage, and ventilation systems. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing infrastructure and equipment. Apply plumbing codes and proper installation techniques for infrastructure, fixtures, and components. Lead installations based on specifications and drawings. Operate specialized tools for repairs and installations, including pro‑press, PEX, soldering, shark bite, and pipe threading. Handle hot water distribution systems, including boilers, gas and electric water heaters, and on‑demand units. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule Tuesday–Saturday 3:00 pm–11:30 pm (Flexible Schedule) Days Off: Sunday & Monday Minimum Qualifications High School diploma (or equivalent) required. Two (2) years of journeyman‑level trade work experience required. Must be able to operate trade equipment, bend, lift, climb ladders and stairs. Must be willing to follow verbal and written reports and use the work order system. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all members of the university community, including fellow workers, staff, faculty, senior staff, and the president. Must meet university requirements to be authorized to drive university vehicles. Preferred Qualifications Salary SEIU Level E: $19.78–$28.09 /hr.
