A respected California law firm is seeking a Trust Litigation Associate to join its litigation practice in either Newport Beach or San Diego.

This role is designed for attorneys who enjoy litigation and are interested in building their experience in trust and probate disputes. Attorneys receive collaborative support from partners while gradually assuming responsibility for their own caseloads. For attorneys interested in courtroom experience, opportunities to second-chair trials are available.

The firm values mentorship, collaboration, and professional development. Attorneys interested in developing business relationships may also access optional one-on-one training, although business generation is not required.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in trust and estate litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and related legal documents
• Advise clients regarding litigation strategy and available options
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout representation
• Participate in hearings, court proceedings, negotiations, and mediation
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with colleagues
• Remain current on legal developments affecting trusts and estates
• Participate in continuing legal education and professional development

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of trust litigation experience strongly preferred
• Commercial, business, or real estate litigators seeking a transition into probate litigation may be considered
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership in good standing

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $150,000–$190,000
• Negotiable origination bonus
• Quarterly retention bonus equal to 10% of net legal fees above three times base salary, paid quarterly and uncapped

Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000
