This role presents a rare opportunity to support a diverse spectrum of clients throughout their life journey within a dynamic environment that skillfully combines outpatient therapies with occasional inpatient offerings. Be it early language development, adult neurogenic communication difficulties, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, you will discover fulfillment and versatility in your work.
Assess patients of all ages, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational insights.
Create tailored treatment plans that comprehensively address immediate objectives alongside prolonged communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Provide individualized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to design cohesive care strategies.
Educate patients and their families to enhance therapeutic progress outside of clinical visits.
Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a continuum of care throughout the rehabilitation path.
Maintain precise and timely documentation in adherence to state, federal, and organizational requirements.
Stay informed of advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for a variety of ages, demonstrating a profound understanding of developmental and acquired disorders in speech, language, and swallowing.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and complying with documentation standards.
