Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will generate, review, and process invoices accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements. This role involves investigating and resolving billing discrepancies and customer inquiries, maintaining and updating customer billing records, and preparing and distributing billing drafts for management review.

Responsibilities

• Generate, review, and process invoices accurately and on time.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.

• Maintain and update customer billing records.

• Prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review.

• Work closely with Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service teams to resolve billing concerns.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years experience in non-medical billing and customer account maintenance.

• Strong understanding of Accounting principles and Billing.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong computer skills.

• Knowledge of Excel formulas and pivot tables is a plus.

• Strong communication skills with internal and external partners/clients.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).

• Problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve billing issues.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

The position requires working onsite five days a week with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Employees can choose between hours of 9-5 or 8-4, provided the schedule is consistent daily. The office features pit-style cubicles, requiring comfort with an open environment. Free parking is available for employees at a garage next to the office, which is conveniently located three blocks from the Bethesda Metro.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
