Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys and practice groups, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines. This role requires strong proficiency in Elite 3E and eBilling platforms, along with a solid understanding of law firm billing practices. Key Responsibilities Prepare, edit, and finalize prebills for assigned timekeepers in accordance with attorney and client instructions Process and submit electronic invoices through various eBilling platforms (e.g., CounselLink, Serengeti/Legal Tracker, TyMetrix, Collaborati, eBillingHub) Monitor eBilling submissions for rejections, appeals, and compliance issues; resolve discrepancies promptly Apply write-offs, discounts, and adjustments per attorney approval and client billing guidelines Manage client-specific billing arrangements, including alternative fee arrangements, rate agreements, and budget tracking Generate and distribute draft bills to attorneys for review; track and follow up on outstanding revisions Maintain accurate client and matter billing data within 3E Research and resolve billing inquiries from attorneys, clients, and accounting staff Assist with month-end and year-end billing close processes Collaborate with Accounts Receivable/Collections on outstanding balances and payment application Ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines (OCGs) and firm billing policies Required Qualifications 3+ years of billing experience within a law firm environment Hands-on proficiency with Elite 3E billing/financial software Experience with eBilling platforms and electronic invoice submission/appeals processes Strong understanding of legal billing terminology (prebills, write-offs, WIP, trust accounting, LEDES formats, etc.) High attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment Strong communication skills for interfacing with attorneys, clients, and internal staff Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Preferred Qualifications Experience with LEDES billing formats Familiarity with alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and complex billing guidelines Prior experience supporting multiple practice groups or offices #J-18808-Ljbffr
