Sous Chef

Beechwood Hospitality, an MMI company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team at The Stonebreaker Hotel in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Stonebreaker Hotel is located just six blocks from the University of Arkansas campus and offers the perfect balance — close to the energy of campus life while tucked away from the congestion and noise of the busy downtown entertainment district. Our setting creates a more elevated and intentional guest experience, and we are building a Food & Beverage team that reflects that same atmosphere. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service are maintained. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences, whether in fine dining settings, catering events, or banquet functions. Responsibilities Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food service teams, to ensure smooth shift operations and high-quality food preparation Lead food production efforts for various service styles such as fine dining, banquets, and catering events while maintaining consistency and presentation standards Oversee inventory control and management of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment to optimize costs and reduce waste Ensure all food safety sanitizing procedures are strictly followed to uphold health regulations and cleanliness standards Participate in menu planning alongside the culinary team, incorporating dietary requirements and innovative dishes Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and support team members in their daily tasks to foster a collaborative work environment Maintain accurate records of food handling, inventory levels, and sanitation compliance while supporting cost control initiatives Assist with training staff on food preparation techniques, food service management, and customer service excellence Support the restaurant or event management team during busy periods such as banquets or large catering functions Experience Proven experience in fine dining establishments with a strong background in food production and kitchen management Demonstrated supervisory experience leading culinary teams within a fast-paced environment Extensive banquet, catering, or large-scale event experience is highly desirable Knowledge of dietary department protocols and special dietary accommodations Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control strategies in the food industry Hands‑on experience with food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively Previous restaurant management or hospitality experience is advantageous Skilled in menu planning, shift management, and overseeing kitchen operations from prep to service Join us as a Sous Chef where your culinary talent will shine!
