Construction Project Manager

Schedule: Primarily office-based with regular project site visits The Opportunity A growing real estate development company is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial retail development projects from initial planning through completion and turnover. This is an owner-side project management role responsible for project budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants, and overall execution. Projects are primarily horizontal and sitework-heavy, including grading, drainage, utilities, paving, landscaping, and related improvements. The position is well suited for someone coming from single-family residential construction or land development who is interested in transitioning into commercial real estate development. Responsibilities Develop and manage project budgets and construction schedules. Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors. Oversee site development, utilities, grading, drainage, paving, and landscaping. Manage contractor procurement, bidding, contracts, and amendments. Review construction documents, contracts, invoices, and change orders. Coordinate with municipalities, utility providers, and other jurisdictional authorities. Conduct regular site visits and monitor construction progress. Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Track project costs, schedules, risks, and outstanding items. Provide regular reporting on budgets, progress, and anticipated completion. Manage multiple active projects simultaneously. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and at the expected quality. Qualifications Minimum of five years of construction project management experience. Experience within single-family residential construction, land development, commercial construction, or civil/site development. Working knowledge of horizontal construction and sitework. Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, and consultants. Ability to read and understand construction and civil plans. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard project-management tools. Willingness to travel regularly to active project sites. Preferred Experience Residential land-development or homebuilding experience. Contractor procurement and contract administration.
