In this dynamic contract opportunity, Special Education Teachers are needed to support students across elementary, middle, and high school sites in a resource-based setting with a few adapted curriculum assignments. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with varying needs, utilizing both your creativity and expertise to foster student success. The contract runs from ASAP through May 26, 2027, ensuring long-term consistency and rewarding professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Active teaching license or eligibility for Special Education in North Carolina
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in resource or adapted curriculum environments strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and support personnel
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver special education instruction in resource rooms, with occasional work in adapted curriculum settings
- Design, implement, and track progress on individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Employ evidence-based interventions and differentiated instructional strategies
- Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers and parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations
