We are looking for a student-centered instructor who will bring to our physical education department much energy and enthusiasm for working with teenagers in the areas of physical wellness, fitness, and health education. Health content includes current social health issues, such as: mental health, healthy lifestyles, substance abuse, and proper nutrition, among other health-related topics. The following standard areas are part of the health curriculum: Health Concepts, Health Information, Products, and Services, Health Promotion and Risk Reduction, Influences on Health, Communication and Advocacy Skills, Decision-Making, and Goal-Setting Skills. Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university Credential Requirements Maine State Teacher Certification with one of the following endorsements: 510 (Physical Education, PK-12) 520 (Health, PK-12) Maine State CHRC authorization (more info) if you already have an active teacher certification, you do not need a separate CHRC as this clearance is tied to your teacher certification About Lyman Moore Lyman Moore Middle School is one of three middle schools serving the diverse and amazing student population in Portland, ME.
