Plant Manager I

Job Overview Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Plant Manager I to oversee operations at the Beaver Creek Wind Farm in Stillwater County, Montana. The role spans business management, safety, regulatory compliance, community relations, and employee development, supporting plant performance and sustainability goals. Responsibilities Manage all Beaver Creek Wind Farm operations, maintenance activities, personnel, and business relationships. Oversee wind farm safety and regulatory compliance requirements. Act as landowner contact, relations and liaison. Serve as Montana government relations contact and liaison. Lead local community and local business engagement and outreach. Employee Development & Team Building Coach, give feedback, and provide developmental opportunities to build effective teams. Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with legal and operational requirements. Oversee training and development, make staff decisions, and hire plant staff. Set expectations, hold employees accountable, and deliver results. Safety Performance Lead a culture of safety awareness and facilitate regular safety training. Support the on‑site Safety Committee for staff, contractors, and consultants. Implement incident investigation and reporting, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Ensure facility staff trained for emergency response. Operations & Maintenance Maintain high plant performance and availability under safety, environmental, budgetary, and design constraints. Coordinate with operations and energy trading groups to forecast and schedule production. Develop, schedule, and implement maintenance and strategic work plans. Recommend cost‑effective investments, procedural changes, or equipment modifications. Administer service and warranty agreements with contractors and other providers. Ensure labor schedules and work practices comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Prepare production, safety, hazard, compliance, and financial reports. Collaborate with other PSE departments and regulatory agencies to facilitate facility operation. Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of combined industry experience and related education in power generation or heavy industrial facility operations and maintenance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Analytical skills for evaluating business challenges. Strong leadership with proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams. Ability to manage changing priorities, demands, and timelines. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of experience collecting and analyzing data to optimize plant operations. Experience working within a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Strong community‑involvement skills and commitment to building relationships. Competency in the utility regulatory environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business‑management suites such as SAP, ARIBA, Maximo, etc. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $98,100.00 – $232,900.00, eligible for annual goals‑based incentive bonuses.
