Surgical Technologist General Vascular

The Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) is responsible for providing highly skilled assistance in the operating room, supporting surgical procedures primarily in General and Vascular surgery, with additional expertise in Orthopedic and Neurosurgery cases. The role requires proficiency in instrumentation, central processing, and critical thinking to ensure patient safety and efficient surgical workflow. The Surg Tech collaborates closely with the surgical team to prepare the operating room, manage surgical instruments, and maintain sterile conditions throughout procedures. Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure aseptic technique is followed at all times.
• Perform critical thinking to anticipate surgeon needs and respond to intraoperative changes.
• Manage central processing and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Participate in surgical counts to ensure all instruments and materials are accounted for.
• Assist with post-operative cleanup and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Respond to call assignments within a 30-minute timeframe as required.

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of current and broad surgical technology experience including Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, and General surgery.
• Excellent knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred but not required.

• Must be available for call shifts approximately every 5th weekend and 1-2 calls per week, with a 30-minute response time.
• Holiday call rotation may be required depending on patient census and staffing.
• Minimal Return to Office (RTO) requirements preferred.

• Work 40 hours per week, with either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts; start and end times are negotiable.
• Shift schedule and hours to be finalized during the phone interview.
