We are looking for a business development manager who will expand monetization of one of the fastest growing brands in media today. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that will allow you to shape the future of a brand new media property that we want to grow forever. If you like the challenge of growing a leads list, executing cold email campaigns, and starting conversations that build the foundation blocks to a long-lasting relationship, this role is for you. About the Role You are a skilled generalist who can switch context easily. We expect you know how to use AI to help do your work and make things happen faster. Our expectation is you enjoy operating with independence and pay attention to the small details. Ideal Qualifications Experience : 2–4 years working in sales at a SaaS or media startup with a focus on aggressive outbound, strategic enterprise deal management, and closing experience Track Record : Demonstrable history of smashing quotas and delivering as a top performer on the team Hunter Mentality : You always want more — more leads, more opportunities, more closed deals, and more commission. You are never satisfied Process Driven : You understand the need to maintain structure and stay organized across outbound efforts, active deals, and long-term nurturing Strong Written Communication : You can deliver a thoughtful, well-written email that advances opportunities across all stages of the sales process Phone Confidence : You are comfortable picking up the phone. Cold calls don’t scare you, and rejection means you move on to the next opportunity Research Instincts : You understand the importance of being prepared for every interaction with a prospect and value great research Big Dreams : You see this role as a launching pad for a big career in a high-growth company Coachability : You take feedback well, iterate quickly, and optimize your funnel Newsletter or Media Knowledge : Not required, but a plus if you understand the newsletter, creator, or publishing landscape What you'll be responsible for Delivering Results : You will blow out quota and close well over $1M in ARR Build the Pipeline : This role is full-cycle Account Research & Targeting : Identify and prioritize target accounts that fit our Enterprise ICP. Map the right contacts, understand their business, and build a relevant point of view before reaching out Multi-Channel Outbound : Run high-quality outbound sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn. Test, iterate, and double down on what works Full Deal Management : Run discovery conversations to qualify fit, identify pain, map that pain to The Poast's functionality, engage senior stakeholders, and close the deal CRM Hygiene : Keep Salesforce clean.
