Community Support Specialist - Adapt Department: Adult CPRC - Lamplighter Square Employment Type: Full Time Location: St. Louis - Lamplighter Square Compensation: $26.04 - $27.31 / hour Description Full-Time | Benefits Eligible Help others in their journey toward recovery and wellness. Join our team as a Community Support Specialist , partnering with adults to support behavioral health and substance use recovery goals. In this role, you'll provide personalized, community-based support - meeting clients where they are: in their homes, in the office, and out in the community. You'll help individuals set and achieve recovery goals, develop daily living skills, access vital services, and build supportive relationships - all while working as part of a collaborative, integrated care team. This position requires regular driving and transportation of clients as part of service delivery. This position is based at Adapt of Missouri, a subsidiary of Compass Health Network. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with clients and families using a motivational, strengths-based approach to support progress toward recovery and resiliency goals.
- Provide individualized, holistic services addressing all dimensions of wellness, including physical, mental, and social health.
- Assist clients in developing and achieving goals outlined in their Wellness Plans, including accessing needed services such as healthcare, housing, financial support, and community resources.
- Offer education and skill-building to promote independence in daily living, symptom management, and recovery.
- Collaborate closely with integrated health team members and community partners to ensure coordinated, culturally responsive care.
- Support clients through transitions such as hospitalization and discharge planning, maintaining regular communication to promote continuity of care.
- Complete timely documentation and uphold service and quality standards in alignment with agency guidelines.
- Provide transportation and other direct supports as clinically appropriate. Driving is an essential function of this position.
- High School/GED required
- Associate's* or Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field preferred
Must qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed:
- Qualified addiction professional;
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field from a college or university included in the U.S. Department of Education's database of accredited schools at ;
- Any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience;
- Four years of qualifying experience; or
- Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree as designated by the Department of Mental Health.*
- Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
- A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
- Bring relevant experience working with adults or behavioral health populations
- Are comfortable traveling to homes and community locations
- Communicate with empathy, adapt easily, and enjoy being part of a collaborative care team
- Possess excellent time management and writing skills
